Bonus Vivus, our parent company, was started by Sarah Couenhoven as result of her desire to connect people to the products she created in search of a healthier life. In 1995, Sarah began researching ancient whole grains to provide her family a convenient snack that was not only tasty but also sustaining, easy to digest, low in unrefined sugar and without yeast. Sarah developed a unique baked bar after months of experimenting with three organic whole grains; amaranth, spelt and oats. These ancient whole grains deliver greater nourishment and nutrients through their vast amounts of energy in the form of complex carbohydrates and protein. After Sarah’s family and friends experienced the bar’s nutritious and delicious energy boost, Bonus Vivus was born. We named our product Thuro Bread because of its complete and innovative solution to the high-sugar, low benefit snack problem and its thoroughly delicious blend of whole grains.
